It’s been a few weeks since our last terrorist attack. Sadly, terrorism has become routine in the world today. This time it was at an Orlando nightclub, popular with the local gay community. In the aftermath of the bloody ordeal Mr. Obama, the master of blame shifting, points his finger at lax gun laws that allow people to acquire “Assault Weapons” i.e. any guns. Today while Briton voted to leave the European Union, the war in Syria rages and the world is dealing with a massive refugee problem, Mr. Obama was busy naming New York’s Stonewall Inn as a national monument. If you are unfamiliar with the historical significance, you’re not alone, even the LGBT community was vaguely aware of its importance. In the president’s own words, “Stonewall will be our first national monument to tell the story of the struggle for LGBT rights. I believe our national parks should reflect the full story of our country, the richness and diversity and uniquely American spirit that has always defined us.” If that statement doesn’t clear things up for you, let me help you out with a cleaned up version, The Stonewall Inn was the site of rioting by gays after a police raid in 1969. At the time, laws forbade selling alcohol to gays. The riots have been hailed as one of the turning points in the gay rights movement. Although I fully support the right to drink in a bar regardless of whether you are straight or gay or whatever you identify as, and I fully agree we have room in the national park system to commemorate the LGBT community, I’m just perplexed by the Presidents priorities. If he really wanted to honor the LGBT community maybe he should have focused on protecting it in the first place? The 2nd amendment didn’t storm a night club in Orlando nor did gun laws. The real threat is Radical Islam and the hate preached by its practitioners against the LGBT community. However, these holy warriors are a protected class in the politically correct quagmire of Obama’s America. His regime will paint anyone as racist if they question the “religion of peace”, regardless of the atrocities committed. So as those who were slaughtered by the “self-proclaimed” ISIS terrorist are still being laid to rest, our President is focused on stricter gun legislation that doesn’t address the root cause of the problem of Radical Islam and the hate it spreads. So instead of applauding Mr. Obama for his latest celebration of diversity, maybe we should question how he plans to protect the LGBT community against the people who promote intolerance, hate and violence against them. Until that day comes I’d recommend self-preservation, get a gun and learn how to use it. Don’t wait 3 hours for the police to rescue you while the spree killer is racking up the body count, learn to protect yourselves so there is no next time. Thanks for the Stonewall Mr. Obama, it really shows you care.
